The Davis Concepts for Life® - Early Years Program provides powerful solutions for young learners who are struggling with focus, behavior or executive functioning. The Davis® Foundations for Reading is an individualized learning enhancement program with the conceptual skills needed to develop reading fluency and comprehension. The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (Basic) Program develops both children’s fundamental cognitive and learning skills and their emotional abilities.
The Davis Concepts for Life® – Early Years Program is a holistic, foundational program that provides powerful solutions and wrap-around support for children. It has a clear, positive focus, enabling the child to build on their strengths and overcome challenges.
Children of 4-8 years who are struggling to meet developmental milestones this may include focus, behaviour, relationships, self-regulation, and /or executive functioning skills.
The Davis Concepts for Life® – Early Years Program is a four-step program. The program length is 20-40 hours.
Each child’s support person learns two mental strategies to help them remain calm and relaxed while working with their child/student.
The child is guided to learn and use a number of focusing tools and self-regulation strategies.
Concepts are introduced through demonstration and experienced together with the child in a fun way that appeals to their interest. Then the child is guided to create a clay model of their own choosing, which visually represents that concept.
After each concept is taught, the child needs to have lots of opportunities to recognize and experience the concept in the real world, with help from their support person.

Davis® Foundations for Reading aims to provide young children with an introduction to Davis tools for attention focus and self-regulation, to learn the alphabet and use Davis techniques to acquire primary level pre-reading and reading skills, and to provide parents or other family members with the knowledge and experience to continue to support their children’s learning during early school years.
Appropriate for children age 5-8, and older children with significant developmental delays.
(Note: Children of this age who are already exhibiting dyslexia symptoms or reading anxiety may require some steps and program time beyond those outlined below.)
Perceptual Ability Assessment would be arranged prior to the program. It aims to explore about the challenges, learning styles, perceptual abilities as well as family support. The consultation takes around 1.5 hours.
The Davis® Foundations for Reading is a three-step program. It is delivered on a one-to-one basis. The length of program is approximately 30 hours, generally provided in half-day sessions over two or more consecutive weeks. Parent or support person will need to be present at least half of the program.
The child will learn mental-focusing techniques to develop accurate perception, and establish the ability to regulate their focus, stress and energy levels.
The child will model and master the alphabet in clay, as well as learn how to use the process in learning the most common and basic words encountered in early reading such as “a”, “the”.
The child and parent will learn how to use the Davis Reading exercises to develop reading tracking, fluency, and comprehension.
After the program, it is necessary to practice and consolidate learnt tools. A maximum of three post-program consultations would be arranged to support these exercises.

Learn about application at schools. The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (Basic) Program [IE Basic] was developed by Prof. Reuven Feuerstein. Consisting of specially designed tasks, it creates systematic, persistent and structured conditions to engage young children in problem solving and reasoning. The program provides them with a firm foundation to become skillful and analytic learners.
Any child of 4-8 years would benefit from the Program.
The Learning Propensity Assessment Device (LPAD) is the first step to IE Basic. It is consisted of a series of tests used to determine how an individual learns, which methods of teaching the individual best respond to, how much learning is retained and transferred to new and challenging tasks.
During the IE sessions, the trained Feuerstein mediator leads learners through increasingly complex cognitive tasks and works with them on how to analyze a problem and how to solve it systematically.
IE utilizes a style of teaching called mediation. In Feuerstein’s terms, mediation means to teach information to the learner in a way that is meaningful to them, so that they understand the lesson and are able to apply it in other contexts. Not only will the trainer work with individuals. Guidance to the support persons will be given to ensure that applications of thinking skills are transferred to all contexts for the individual.Livia is definitely someone you can count on - she always provides the right support to me and my son when we need her - even when we have become miles away.
