The Davis Approach

The Davis® Approach was developed by Ronald D. Davis who is an autistic genius and dyslexic individual. He was born as a Kanner’s baby and started to talk at the age of 17. In 1980, at the age of 38, Ron overcame his own severe dyslexia when he found a way to quickly eliminate perceptual distortions. For the very first time in his life, he could read and enjoy a book without struggling.

Ron believed that many learning challenges like autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia,… are different manifestations of the same root cause – disorientation (confused perception and reality). By eliminating the causes of confusion step by step as well as learning connected concepts, challenges could be transformed into advantages.

Ron had continuously developed solutions over the last few decades. All the Davis Programs are drug-free and consist of 3 steps: 1. Davis Tools – Fostering good focusing and self-regulation; 2. Davis Concepts – Learning fundamental concepts; 3. Application – Implementing the tools and concepts into practical use.
