Executive Functions refer to a wide range of mental skills that enable individuals to problem solve, plan, organize, manage time, complete tasks, control behaviours as well as interact with others. Executive Functioning Disorders often occur as a result of another disorder or brain injury.
Latest neuroscience research has more supporting evidence that human brains are neuroplastic. That means our brains are modifiable despite age and abilities. The Davis Concepts for Life® Program and the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (Standard) Program offer innovative solutions to individuals of all ages with different challenges to improve executive functioning.
The Davis Concepts for Life® Program was developed for anyone who wants to create meaningful change in their life. Individuals have the opportunity to work on their goals by experiencing, reflecting on and mastering a series of essential life concepts and then explore in the world around them. This structured-but-flexible process promotes self-responsibility and personal growth.
Perceptual Ability Assessment would be arranged prior to the program. It aims to explore the challenges as well as family support. The consultation takes around 1-1.5 hours.
The Davis Concepts for Life Program is a three-step program. It is delivered on a one-to-one basis, program length is approximately 60 hours.Assisting the individual to develop accurate perception, and establish the ability to regulate their focus, stress and energy levels. This step is particularly important to build up and maintain attention at all times with ease.
Facilitating the individual to truly master essential life concepts that will help them to understand relations between events, manage time, organize self and build good social relationships.
Conducting application exercises so the individual will learn how to apply the concepts in their life to create meaningful change. The desired changes will depend on each person’s specific needs, capacity and situation.

The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (Standard) Program [IE Standard] was developed by Prof. Reuven Feuerstein. It is a cognitive intervention program. Consisting of specially designed instruments. Each series focuses on a different cognitive skill, creating systematic, persistent, and structured conditions to engage learners in problem-solving by developing their ability to understand and elaborate information.
Any individual aged above eight years who wants to improve executive functioning for study, work and personal management would benefit.
The Learning Propensity Assessment Device (LPAD) is the first step to IE Standard. It is consisted of a series of tests used to determine how an individual learns, which methods of teaching the individual best respond to, how much learning is retained and transferred to new and challenging tasks.
During the IE sessions, the trained Feuerstein mediator leads learners through increasingly complex cognitive tasks and works with them on how to analyze a problem and how to solve it systematically.
IE utilizes a style of teaching called mediation. In Feuerstein’s terms, mediation means to teach information to the learner in a way that is meaningful to them, so that they understand the lesson and are able to apply it in other contexts. Not only will the trainer work with individuals. Guidance to the support persons will be given to ensure that applications of thinking skills are transferred to all contexts for the individual.
